a sad farewell

Hello there everyone. Contrary to all appearances on this blog, I am not dead. Rather, I just discovered something somewhat disheartening.

This blog has absolutely no focus. I randomly talk about anything and everything that comes to mind. It may work for a diary or something for someone who's wildly famous and everyone wants to hear what they have to say. But for me? A twenty-year-old college student who is trying to make media her job? I have to have a focus. Otherwise, very few people will want to read what I have to say.

Therefore, the good and the bad will be put on hiatus, starting immediately after I finish this post. All posts are still open for comments, and I will still answer comments. However, I will not be publishing new content until such a time as I have a focus. Even then, it is very likely that I will be returning only to announce a new blog. I do not want to go through yet another set of name and address changes and focus changes and look. This blog will still be around. I just won't be posting on it.

Maybe, someday, I'll become so famous that everyone clamors for my random thoughts on things like sexual abuse, music, or hard truths. Maybe they'll want my opinion on the books that I've read or the movies that I've seen recently. For now, though, I need to be directing my energies towards something that will actively be read and perused by people seeking information.

So it is that this evening, May 30, 2012, I must bid you all a sad farewell. I wish you all the best, and encourage you to visit the blogs in the sidebar. Give them some love. And soon, I'll be back to blogging as a member of a staff of bloggers. For more information on this subject, I highly recommend that you go to the Facebook page to get more information on that as it comes out. Unfortunately, I can't say more or actually direct you to the site yet for two reasons.

1. I'd have to kill you, since it's still classified.

2. The website is still in the process of being completed, so it's not actually officially "open" yet. Like it on Facebook or follow it on Twitter. Also, you can hound the Bad Catholic to keep up-to-date, since he's the one spearheading this project.

So farewell, my friends.
